It's Just like Brushing your Teeth (hard copy)

Obesity has become quite the problem in British Columbia. There are many serious health issues that come along with obesity. In order to prevent obesity in our youth, the DPA, which is an extremely effective strategy to get kids active, should be implemented as soon as possible. The reasons why the DPA would work so well are because it is daily and not too long. When you do something on a daily basis, such as brushing your teeth, it becomes second nature and you don't mind doing it. For example, when you're really young you don't really want to brush your teeth. However, after you get trained into it it isn't so bad and you will continue to do it for the rest of your life. This what makes the DPA so great. Kids won't mind doing their daily excersizes so much because it will become a habit. Once the kids grow up, just like brushing their teeth, they should keep doing their daily excersizes for the rest of their lives. The beauty of this is that it doesn't take more time in total than the P.E. system we have now. It will take the same amount of time but kids will be much more motivated because of the way it is spread out. I think that if I were to use the DPA then I would be more motivated to excersize, I would be more active, and I would be much more likely to excersize later in life than just doing the normal P.E. system. Incorperating this into school would be fairly easy, just take roughly five minutes from each class and maybe two or three minutes from lunch and make a period similar to reading block where every does their daily physical activities. This will get everyone active and do an effective job of lowering the obesity rates of British Columbia.
